About the Store

We Olive Walnut Creek opened in August 2009; the store is centrally located in downtown Walnut Creek, just north of Broadway Plaza on Main Street.

We Olive carries a wide variety of California grown and certified artisan olive oils, each tasted and tested by the California Olive Oil Council.  Look for the COOC seal to know your getting certified Extra Virgin olive oil.

From soft & buttery, to peppery and robust; or choose a flavored oil infused with your favorite fruit or herb.  Walk-up to our tasting bar where you can sample over 50 varieties of oils and vinegars, guided by a We Olive expert.

Our wide selection includes our customer favorite Aged Balsalmic vinegar (aged up to 18 years) imported from Modena Italy, along with flavored vinegars, pestos, tapenades, dipping oils, mustards, olives and chutney.  For our avid repeat customers, We Olive offers olive oils and aged balsamic vinegar in self-serve bulk by the ounce, where you can fill one of our bottles or bring your own bottle.

In addition,  We Olive provides a wide selection of bath, body and skin care products made from olive oil.  Most important of all, browse the store sampling your favorite products and enjoy the ambience and experience that brings a feeling of Tuscany right to your local community.

We Olive Wednesdays Cooking Classes

 

We have added new classes for our We Olive Cooking Demonstrations.

The evening will feature exciting & easy-to-make recipes for the beginner in the kitchen, or an advanced foodie, created by Chef Lauren Mahlke from Olive To Eat Catering. Each month will have a different theme with a 3 course tasting menu. The same class will be offered 2 times a month.

2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month
Libations will begin at 6:00

Chef's Favorite Techniques

May 9th and 23rd
Learn how to make Fresh Ricotta, Cured Salmon, Duck Confit and Olive Oil Cake. We will cover the techniques of preserving and curing.

Rustic Italian

June 13th and 27th
Many of us know of Italy's pastas and pestos but what about the Rustic soul food that Italy has to offer. Take a trip through Italy's country side with the Rustic dishes fit for an Italian Grandmother.

 

 

$30 per person for May and June classes. Classes go up to $35 per person starting in July. Classes includes 3-courses of menu items, libations and recipes to take home.  Call to schedule your own private group cooking demonstration for a fun night out with friends or co-workers.

We Olive Walnut Creek is now offering professional knife sharpening every Thursday.

A sharp knife is a safer knife and a smart chef uses only a sharp knife.

Group Olive Oil Tastings:
Full access to store, including a prepared selection of Calirornia certified extra virgin olive oils & vinegars for tasting, along with a variety of appetizers and wine; $15 per person (minimum 6 people and up to 40).

Last night at We Olive in
Walnut Creek was so much fun! We had a nice turnout and we all enjoyed scrumptious appetizers and delicious wine as part of our private in-store event. The owners, Mike and Christine, are such terrific people... truly! They really put on a great night for our group. We enjoyed tastings, as well as an educational class on olive oil
that was really informative and great fun! 

LLMM also had a special treat last night: Art Kishiyama of Olio Nuevo from Paso Robles was there and gave us a private tasting and educational session focused on his very own Arbequina Extra-Virgin Olive Oil. We learned about his unique farming methods, as well as a bit about the man himself. What a versatile man! It was a treat to meet him.

In general, Christine and Mike from We Olive went all out to give us an enjoyable experience. They have a beautiful store filled with everything OLIVE. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and has a Mediterranean feel to it. I recommend visiting them anytime!
